Youth Advisory Board

Awaken youth survivors who have experience with the criminal justice system are invited to participate in the Youth Advisory Board in collaboration with the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ). This youth-led advisory board meets monthly to share their experiences to help influence training materials, laws and best practices for family court decisions related to youth trafficking and sexual exploitation. To date, the Youth Advisory Board has created a resource guide/toolkit to implement court-based strategies to support the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), as well as created an infographic depicting the vulnerabilities that can lead someone to be trafficked, and have written and recorded a Public Service Announcement that will air on radio stations about the reality of sex trafficking and CSEC in our community.
